Services – Implants

Implants are today the most advanced method of restoring tooth loss. Based on an inserted intraosseous titanium implant, resembling a small diameter screw with an internal thread, we can reconstruct a missing tooth, for example, using a permanent restorative device, such as a bridge or a crown. The external surface of the implant in contact with the bone is acid etched and sandblasted, so as to increase the degree of osseointegration, i.e. connection with the bone. The system is well beyond the experimental stage and the implant technique is now well refined. With a good diagnosis and an effectively managed procedure our success rate is 98 %. We have developed our own team approach to implant treatment – thanks to cooperation between our specialists: prosthetics specialist Wacław Steczko, dental surgeon Przemysław Dubis and dental technician Jolanta Woźniak, we achieve outstanding results. Perhaps our secret lies in our abiding by the following principle: each and every one of us does what he or she is best at. Such an approach has enabled us to minimise the risk of any complications arising and ensure excellent quality of treatment at every stage. Our prosthetic procedures are thus of the highest standard and tailored to the requirements and expectations as well as the bio-adaptable possibilities of every patient.

Our clinic employs three implant systems: Nobel-Biocare, Sky Implants and Alpha-Bio. We select the right system according to the individual needs of each patient. Nobel Biocare is an implant company that has been active on the market for 40 years. It recently launched the Nobel Guide computer navigation system on the market. This is a computer programme that makes use of computer tomography imaging based on the “dual scan” technique to generate a three-dimensional image of the upper or lower jaw and the future dental prosthesis. By superimposing the images on each other, as well as by simulating the insertion of implants we can plan out the procedure so to ensure the optimal placement of implants (i.e. so that the implant does not damage the anatomical structures transecting the bone, is fully immersed in the bone and is inserted in the position of the future tooth, and not, e.g., between them). On the basis of such a diagnosis we can order a “surgical template” from the company’s centre in Sweden - which enables us to insert implants in operation in precisely the assigned places. The operation itself is carried out atraumatically, i.e. without the need for cutting or later sutures. Moreover, the duration of the procedure is shorter and eliminates post-operational complications, such as swelling and possible pain. Another advantage of the system is that we can prepare a temporary prosthetic reconstruction, which the patient can wear immediately after the procedure.

The advantages of inserting implants using the Nobel Guide system are as follows:
- the procedure is safe
- minimal invasiveness (no cutting, sutures or swelling)
- short surgical procedure
- possibility of immediate prosthetic reconstruction (patient leaves immediately after the operation with his or her “teeth”).
Drawbacks:
-no possibility of regeneration (augmentation) of bone
